My Teacher Wrote “Natural Right and History”

This book guided the conservative thinkers in USA for 50 years.

I was the “reader” — I read the texts my teacher commented on in his classes.

I graduated, but stayed on as “reader” for an extra year, commuting back to the College every week to record my teacher’s classes so they could be transcribed at University of Chicago, and they were.

I had a small tape recorder, which was rare in those days.

I was able to read in several languages, Greek, Latin, French, and Italian.
