On the USS Sterrett we were over-flown by a Russian military plane — here is how we handled that —

We declined to “paint” that plane with our fire-control radar.

No radar = no shell coming.

We knew it. The Russian plane knew it — they did not “paint” the USS Sterrett with their fire control radar.

So the crossing of the paths was peaceful.

It’s possible that in 2025 somebody might do what we did in 1982.

40 years later — the same solution might work.

If people have brains, that work.
