Their desire to evict me is not based on any of the legal premises for eviction in Maryland. My rent is all paid up and current (not like in the cases of Parkman or Simmons). In my case they found a crumb in my microwave and a spot on my floor, and some boxes from Amazon, not yet taken out.
Their actions to evict me are unwarranted. And yet they put a “Do Not Renew” in my file.
They took pictures of my apartment to show its condition. But the pictures show the apartment is in clean, good, uncluttered condition. So they will not share the pictures. They say “We don’t do that” [share pictures].
My possible helpers could include Trump, Bondi, Maryland Gov., Maryland AG, County Administrator, City Mayor. So far, no help from anybody. Decorated vet with service overseas, rent all paid up, apartment not harmed in any way, and yet they plan to evict me in Dec/Jan, mid winter, at age 80, based on a crumb, and a spot on the floor.
I am a lawyer, so I have not sought legal counsel. Some help to re-imagine the intent of Maryland Management Company would be very welcome. They could adopt a more rational intent — let me stay on my home.
CHAT tells me —
Landlords in Maryland can initiate eviction proceedings for several reasons, including:
Nonpayment of Rent: If rent is overdue, landlords can begin the eviction process.
Lease Violations: Breaches such as unauthorized occupants or property damage.
Holding Over: When a tenant remains after the lease term ends.
Illegal Activities: Engaging in criminal behavior on the property.
I have done NONE of the things CHAT mentions.
Maryland Management found a crumb in my microwave and a spot on my floor and some Amazon cardboard boxes I had not taken out yet.
Maryland Management took photos (which show the apartment is clean and orderly) but will not share the photos (“We don’t do that” they say.)
They wanted photos to show my place was messy. But the pictures show just the opposite. So they will not share them.
Maryland Management Company Is Not the Ideal Landlord
