Media Lab grew out of Transformational Grammar.
Which came from Noam Chomsky, and Janet Fodot (my teacher).
Natural language as used by robots in 2025 comes from deep structure Noun Phrase Verb Phrase as modified by transforms, like Janet taught me to use at Harvard/MIT Summer School in 1968.
Which was a time of great political upheaval, technical innovation, and historical milestones.
Robots go way back.
I further still.
I had studied Grammar with some care at St. John’s College (Annapolis).
