St. John’s College is the Great Books School

The Great Books were not written to be a Course in Good Citizenship, but that’s how they are anyway.

You read all the political books, and all the economics books, and lots of math and science, and plenty of history.

4 years of REQUIRED math + 4 years of REQUIRED lab science. More than any other college.

So, St. John’s could be a school for inventors as well as good citizens, and good investors.

My fave book was called De Rerum Natura by Lucretius Titus Carus.

Atoms and the Void. See?

The universe per se is devoid of purpose. But your life can be filled with a driven by purposes.

Love your fellow persons. Love Jesus. Love God. Be well. Do right. And practice right livelihood.
