Huge crowds have gathered to protest against President Donald Trump’s policies in cities across the US – among them New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.

Trump is ready to contend. This has attracted a full nation of contenders who want to contend with Trump.

Ike, my hero, wanted a quiet watch.

He did not seek to contend with anybody.

He wanted all people to not contend with him.

It was a kind of Nolo Contendere approach to being President.

There was no full nation that wanted to contend with Ike.

He gave us a quiet watch.

We gained a lot from that.
