Not so proud to be American — ‘fed up’ expats renounce citizenship

I will not renounce my USA citizenship unless USA requires me to return to USA every year in order to maintain the validity of my passport.

I legally qualify to become a French citizen (my dad was 100% French — Legion of Honor winner).

I do not have the required funds to become a Swiss citizen.

I could possibly afford Spain, Monaco, or Italy.

If Princess of Asturias invites me to Spain, I will go.

Yes, I am fed up with USA. My landlord is seeking to kill me. My patent has not found a buyer.

Malta is another possible place to get citizen status. And it is affordable.
