I was lucky to work for Nixon, Reagan, and GW Bush — all of whom were very good to me.

The Navy paid my way through Business School. I was a Navy Recruiter, and went on to get my MBA in Personnel. I have experience in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP). For some jobs in the Navy a sailor must attain a certain PRP score.

My empathy, which comes natural, is helpful in guessing what other people are likely to do. Trial lawyers have to voir dire potential jury members. It’s part of litigation. It’s not the gift of mind reading. It’s just in the trial lawyer game.

My solvency was harmed recently when my “credit” cards suddenly shazamme turned into debit cards, so any money that was not available in my checking account was not credit available to me — like the financial people said it would be.

It’s a vaudeville gag — they take your hat on the way in, then they show you a pretty hat, and it fits you just right, and it’s on sale now, for a discount. So you walk out with your “new” hat that you bought from the clever financial people.

Yes, I was harmed by this trick. I had no idea they could do that.
