The Role of the State in Times Long Ago

The role was to make sure genius was recognized and rewarded.

In days long ago geniuses were not allowed to die unrecognized and unrewarded if the head of state could act, and bring rewards to them.

In days of some time back, the market was able to recognize and reward genius, quite often, but not every time. Tesla was the exception. He died unrecognized and was buried in a pauper’s grave.

In the future there could be a head of state who would take great care to find genius, make it known, and give it some reward. We would not depend on the market 100%, or on the Imbecile Joe Biden.

Progress can be the result of intelligent conduct by the state.

This was known in the 17th Century. And widely practiced in the 18th Century, sometimes called the Enlightenment.

The state is not always a sinkhole of despair (Joe Biden). It can be a source of light.
