Reading “Greats” as your College Education is a Decision YOU must make, and KNOW why and how you are making it.

I knew that “Greats” was not going to enskill me, or enable me to find a job.

I wanted the wisdom, not a marketable skill set.

I wanted the quality that wisdom bring into a person’s life, not a skill set that would allow me to sell the time of my life to a production line, or service organization.

I wanted education that would work within me, not education that would add a skill set to me.

I wanted a better life, not an assurance of being employed.

“Greats” are read at Oxford, Cambridge, Univ. Chicago, Columbia Univ., and some liberal arts colleges in USA.

The Great Books Program is the entire basis of the whole curriculum at St. John’s College in Annapolis Maryland and at Santa Fe New Mexico.

But the Great Books include a whole lot math and science, so the program contains 4 years of Mandatory math, and 4 years of mandatory lab science.

I got my liberal arts degree but came out a Photonics-skilled fluorescent technology engineer.

My goal was not to get knowledge to earn a living, but that’s what I got.
