Chinese officials say the rules are meant to prevent the country’s rare earths from being used to develop weapons.
The processing of Rare Earths ore is hazardous, costly, and quite difficult. China has developed the technology and industrial means to accomplish that. It paid the price in health, and wealth, that needed to be paid to get the critical metals.
USA did not pay the price because of health and environmental regulations. We don’t have the capacity that China has to make ingots of rare metal needed for fighter jets.
No air power = no land power = no border = no nation.
China knows this.
USA is vaguely aware, and will come to knowledge by 2036, assuming that people like Joe Biden do not get back in power.
