Lucretius was the second Great Books author, after Homer, I read who made sense to me.

Plato, Aristotle —- piffle paffle of the most flimsy sort, no good sense there. Socrates like Jesus was a man of the right stuff. He was Delta Force, not some whimsy Platonist or Aristotelian, or Plotinus reader. Not in the “clouds” a man tougher than iron nails.

So, my life was in grave peril. Zero was the number of old pals who came to help. Hoping for Alte Kameraden, got hard vacuum.
