Tariffs are fees paid by the Importing organization, they are not “taxes”. Most foreign companies are BEYOND the reach of taxes imposed by the US Congress.

The fees are designed go offset the societal, social, and economic harm the imported items will cause to USA. Mainly the loss of jobs.

From McKinley in 1905 down to the present day many Presidents have put tariffs on foreign goods imported into USA.

This is a Presidential power, not a tax.

Article II has not changed, and Trump has the same power that prior Presidents have had.

By 2036 SCOTUS will figure this out.

It’s so complex that you have to be at least 8 to understand it.

Article II now, is as it was then.

If McKinley could do it, Trump can do it.

It’s not a tax, it’s a harm offset fee.
