When I was 6, I was Trained to Sing. I had Perfect Pitch.

I went to Sunday School one day — hated it — tried out for choir (to get out of it).

Cappell-Meister found I had perfect pitch. Gave me lead role (first sounder of a note) in the choir.

St. James Church 71st and Madison.

I had a memory for notes. I knew every hymn by heart.

The lead singer hits the note a tiny bit early. The whole choir then hits the note. I was front row, on the congregation side.

My mother had no intent for me to be in choir, but I was keen on no Sunday School.

It’s better to stand and sing, than to sit and listen blah blah blah.

I grew up to be confirmed as an Anglican. By the Bishop of Lausanne.

King George is the Head of my Church. Soon it will be One of his Sons by Diana Princess of Wales.
