Great Great Grandma Allen came to USA in 1839 and was part of the Gold Rush that went out West (to Oregon and California) in 1849. Scots knew sluising, which is a far better way to get gold than panning. Sluising is like the method used to make the Golden Fleece. We ended up with 3 gold mines, and part of San Francisco, and part of Carmel California, and much of what is now called East LA. We called it the Half Circle G Ranch. We got through the 1917 Pandemic on account of having that land. We are listed in the 1910 Census.
The Allen Tartan is Mostly Blue and Green, but also contains thin stripes of Red, White, and Black.
