I Take Courage From Farnham’s Freehold (novel by Heinlein)

I am 100% healthy, wealthy, and wise — but shaken, rattled, terrified, and no longer able to cope. I need a friend and helper who will be kind and gentle, and who really does know how to cope with the world as it now is. At 80, with no smartfone, and no wife, and with my family long gone, and friends drifted away, I’m alone in the world and very afraid. My eyesight has been affected by the worry/stress that has taken away my sleep. Heinlein’s novel Farnham’s Freehold is all about what you do when your life/world explodes. I am encouraged by that story. Farnham figures out how to cope with a wholly new set of circumstances and people
