Pope Leo was pastor to many down-trodden people in South America. He is devoted to Pope Francis (a socialist leaning person). He is from southside Chicago, a place with many avid Marxists.

I think the Pope’s visit to Spain will backfire on him. Spain does not want Marxism. Spain does not want no-borders globalism. Or carbon whiny warmism. Pope would have about the same luck in Chile. He knows that. He knows South America far better than I do, having been a pastor in Peru.

Many Popes have been left leaning. The church is not taxed BECAUSE it is not political. But, of course it is. No, I’m not saying it should be taxed. Nor should Christian Science, or Mary Baker Eddy. Or her Key to the Scriptures. Mary was closer to being a Christian than I am. I am closer to being a Taoist. Alan Watts had full knowledge of the revealed religions, and the wisdom of he East. So did Herman Hesse.
