those who were oriented toward a meaning to be fulfilled were more likely to survive.

According to Frankl, as human beings, our primary motivation for living is to find meaning.

Paul Simon says when he was sleeping he saw a vision softly creeping.

Meaning can, but need not, be part of human existence. Existence is Ex Histemi — which means standing forth. What stands forth is not your body but your vision— the meaning you find — the thing you see when with your old friend Darkness.

Poets are truly alive — Paul Simon, TS Eliot, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, William Shakespeare, EE Cummings.

Meaning is possible for humans. But not frequent apart from romantic love, family and taking care of one’s people.

Meaning in the form of Episteme is a phantasy made up by Plato. The closest we have to actual knowledge is physics and chemistry. We know a bit about medicine, almost nothing of psychology, and law/politics is just a plain mess — we know nothing about that or what is true there.

Ike the General was a good President because he was totally skeptical. He ran a great spy shop, and Dulles and Donovan were his helpers. Ike outsmarted Russia at every turn. Fuchs stole the atom bomb and that was a huge setback for Ike. We invented it and by 1949 the Russians knew how to make it. The Cold War based on mutual deterance, was productive for both USA and USSR. The moon shot in 1969 put a lot of emphasis on how peaceful it all was, but we all knew better — access to orbit = missile on target, half a globe away. My mother was OSS, Worked for Donovan and my dad was Securite Nationale worked for Churchill. I was never a spy, but I did acquire data from foreign persons and supplied it to the US Navy.
