Points of Interest regarding AI

Data centres and model development require chips, electricity and financing. Does the AI craze mean others are going without? When AI has solved cancer and climate change, no one will be sniping about whether too much money and electricity were poured into the industry.

Things that payoff are positive. Money losers are bad.

AI does help small business executives do better product design and planning. It creates a lot of new jobs. The jobs it eliminates were not jobs for brilliantly creative people. I won’t say dunderheads, that sounds too entitled and snobbish.

I am your Seer. What I see about AI is hazy foggy unclear and not ready for publication. Yes, much good will be done. Yes lots of displacement will happen. No, I have no comment on this. It’s too allovertheplace. All told I say no corporation should ever be run by an AI robot, and doing so should be a jailable felony with very heavy fines. You as an executive can use AI to help you decide and plan, and choose, and design. But no part of your company can actually be run by a robot. We may need new courts with special skills to sort out how to properly apply sound law in this complex field. Heavy punishment for clearly outrageous violations done as soon as possible would be helpful. The law must speak. Running away and hiding is not upholding what people have a right to expect from my profession — admitted to the Bar in 1977, to the Federal Courts in 1985. Bio of me is on www.
