Communes will make a comeback. Like The Farm, in TN. People will help each other to survive. All levels of government collapse and help not at all. But a few thousand people like the ones in Summerville could help each other, like in 1963. Here is an even more unexpected vision — whole entire communes could move to other nations. Canada, Spain, Netherlands, Malta, Portugal, Brazil, etc. So maybe 10,000 people become refugees from USA, and some other nation takes them in as a group. They might have know-how, technology, science, cash, gold, stocks, skills like diplomacy, law, inventing, etc.
