Education — Its Value — The beauty of Poetry and Art in made into a Chore in Prep School, not to help you KNOW information, but to enable you to take joy in art for the rest of your lifetime. The arduous chore seems quite tiresome, but the results from doing it are quite delightful. Education leads you to what you are not — a person who can take joy in art. Education takes away your free time at this moment, but gives you a life of joy in exchange for it. In Prep School you MUST read novels, poems, and essays, you must look at plays paintings and sculpture. You must hear and grasp music. You must take exams to make sure you are doing all these chores. It seems so tedious. And yet it is a gift of wondrous value. You are led to be what you are not. You are conducted into being how you are not. You transform from a brute beast into a full fledged human by being Prepped (not just for college, but for life).
