The West Provides me with 2 Philosophers, and the East Provides me with 2 more.

The West has Lucretius, a most sensible fellow, and Johann Gottfried Herder who spoke of Volksgeist and felt that poets were the creators of nations. The Star Spangled Banner was written by a fellow graduate of my College, which in those days was called King Williams’ School (now called St. John’s College (of Annapolis). Herder was a fan of traditional German folk dancing. And he talked about the Spirit of the German people. He died in 1803 and had absolutely nothing to do with Germany in 1939 or thereafter till 1945.

The East brings me Lao Tze who wrote about Te (Personal Strength) and the way (Tao) to get it, in his old book (Ching) which I read in China. The other one is Alan Watts, a fallen Anglican who claimed to be a Buddhist, and who wrote about the Watercourse Way (much was about Lao Tze).

My first job was as a reader of poetry, mostly the Beat poets, and TS Eliot, and EE Cummings. and Robert Frost. I made enough to have an apartment on Washington Square North, but there was no decent food in the Village. I had great hot meals at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 82nd Street.

I believe in the elements made in the Big Bang, and even more in the elements made when White Dwarf stars collapse and explode. And it does make very secure ID cards which can solve the invasion problem, and very secure bank bills which can solve the inflation problem. By 2064 these problems may be noticed. Some sort of solution may become valuable. I have that. I use Ln+3 ions and hand-made snippets of the spectral range, that I make by hand, with no formula, algorithm, robot, or program. By hand. I do them. Very not predictable. Yes, I did study Enigma for 30 years. I know how to encypher. You can’t beat a “system” that does not exist, and is pure personal quirkiness.
