The Jesus Story

The Trinity was always a sketchy idea. Are the three parts one Being. If they are then did the creator of the entire universe have so little power that he could not prevent his murder by the Pharisees. So we are looking at huge enormous power that is also very little tiny and weak. Could the Jesus idea be made any more incredible. Maybe 5 fish and 5 loaves feeding 3000 people. Maybe water turning into wine. Maybe walking on water. Did any Christian ever expect to create new Christians by telling the story of Jesus from the Gospels? Is Christianity a cultural sign? Was Jesus the perfect sign sent by God to show humans what love is? As a Taoist I see the Jesus story as a story told among people who like to tell stories. You are supposed to know the content of the story. But believing it is another matter. I am within the culture of Christian society, but not a Gospel believer. What I believe is that there is a path (Tao) and leads to personal strength (Te) that is reflected in the old classic book (Ching). I was baptised an Episcopalian, and conformed an Anglican, and like Alan Watts, I am a fallen Christian, and believer in the Watercourse Way. In China, I did learn to read the Tao Te Ching.
