The data center can use AI to make you imagine you are talking to somebody, when you are actually talking to nobody. People are lonely, and need help, and want some concern about them. AI plays into these needs. It is a cynical gimmick trick. It knows how to acquire data and use that data to make you think it is talking to you. At MIT in 1967 I was taught transformational grammar, the basis for AI — Janet Fodor was my teacher.
