Alice was hoping to live in the wonderful house of the White Rabbit, and be alive like the Cards, and the chessmen. She did not expect all of Wonderland to be just a dream and to wake up and be on her couch again. Rev. Dodgson is not rated as an existentialist. But he should be. Camus, Omar Khayyam, and Lewis Carroll are the only 3 people to ever say anything real about human existence. Aristotle, and Plato did the best they could, but their efforts were laden with fanciful ideas that are not at all credible. Jesus also had ideas that are not credible. Honorable mention goes to Mary Baker Eddy. She was a sensible person from Boston. Spent her life thinking about human existence. Wrote a key to the scriptures. Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was, like Camus, and Sartre, a deep thinker about human existence. By 2057 his ideas will be “discovered”if anybody ever cares again about such issues (not just more apps for their Smartphones, or jingles, or cartoons).
