Be the Person of Goodness, Care, Reason, and Honesty that you would like to meet.

Doing this does not make it more likely that you will actually meet such a rare individual. It is more an assertion than a quest. It is you being the ideal of your own values. It is not you on an impossible quest. Most people are Evil, Crooked, Monsters of Not Caring About Anything. They are dead to value. They are Golems. They are mosquitoes masquerading as human beings. Your role is to assert what is Good. To be positive. Not disappointed by being on a false and impossible quest for some imagined other, who you know is not likely to ever be there.

You don’t expect to find. But you do hope to present. You are ready to pioneer the good, caring person who you wish existed. You are ready to BE the first such person. You have no expectation to see, but this does not reduce what you can be. Inventors create something new. How about a new person, not the same as the others. Being a pioneer takes guts. You don’t do it for honor or glory. You do it to make your life a statement, an assertion, a proposition, an invention — something that can be discovered and emulated. So what if you change mankind, one of millions of species, on one tiny planet, in one galaxy, among billions of galaxies. No big deal. It’s something you do for its own sake.
